I am a Chartered Clinical Psychologist who has been studying and working in the field for the past 22 years and I now run a private practice in Mid Sussex. 

After completing a Doctorate in Clinical Psychology at Newcastle University in 2006, I have more than 14 years’ experience working within the NHS in GP’s surgeries and inpatient hospital wards. 

I have a specific interest and expertise in working with clients who have developed Dementia and other types of progressive neurological conditions.  More recently I have worked in the NHS’s Improving Access to Psychological Therapy (IAPT) service, designed to address the needs of Adults with long term health conditions together with anxiety and depression.  

The types of neurological conditions I specialise in include:-

  • Dementia: working with individuals, families and care homes

  • Multiple sclerosis

  • Parkinson’s Disease

Long term health conditions include:-

  • Type 1 and Type 2 Diabetes

  • Cardiac conditions

  • Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disorder (COPD)

  • Gastrointestinal disorders

  • Musculoskeletal conditions

Mental health experience

  • Low Mood, Depression and Low Self-Esteem

  • Anxiety including Social Anxiety, Panic Disorder, Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD) and Generalised Anxiety Disorder (GAD)

  • Trauma

  • Bereavement and loss

  • Interpersonal or relational difficulties sometimes referred to as Personality Disorder

Assessment and therapy

I am skilled in providing assessment and therapy, drawing on a wide range of approaches including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Mindfulness, Psychodynamic Principles and Systemic Therapy. 

As a qualified Cognitive Analytic Therapy Practitioner, I am able to use an integrative approach that combines these therapeutic skills to suit an individual client’s needs.
